Moray West Welcomes Its First Turbine Components

Moray West has reached another exciting milestone with the arrival of the first Siemens Gamesa 14MW wind turbine generator components at the Port of Nigg.

This shipment includes both the 108-metre blades and tower sections.

Siemens Gamesa will be managing the pre-assembly of all 60 wind turbine generators at the port. This activity coincides with the ongoing blade production at their quayside factory in Hull, where a total of 180 B108 blades are being manufactured for Moray West.

Once installed, these blades will be the longest ever deployed in UK waters, contributing to the Moray West’s ability to generate clean energy for over 1 million homes.
