Moray West has achieved a historic milestone with the successful installation of its first wind turbine. This significant event comes on the heels of the project welcoming its first giant B108 blades earlier.
This achievement is a testament to the strong partnership between OW Ocean Winds and Siemens Gamesa. The blades were manufactured by Siemens Gamesa and pre-assembled at the Port of Nigg with the support of dedicated marshalling teams last Sunday.
With the successful completion of the first turbine, Moray West is now ramping up its wind turbine installation campaign. The next set of components is already loaded onto the Cadeler "Wind Orca" vessel, paving the way for a rapid installation pace. The entire campaign is expected to be finalised by the end of 2024.
This achievement serves as a fitting tribute to Earth Day, highlighting the project's role in driving the UK towards a net zero future.
