Moray WestDEME Group's "Orion" Bolsters Monopile Installation

DEME Group's offshore installation vessel "Orion" has joined the Moray West offshore wind farm project, successfully installing its first monopile foundation this week. This second vessel accelerates the ongoing monopile installation phase, which began in 2023.

“Orion” complements DEME's existing vessel “Apollo”, focused on installing transition pieces. The combined efforts will significantly advance construction.

The project utilises innovative vibro hammers to minimise noise impact during installation.
